Natural, Herbal Products Contain Pharmaceuticals

Stop me if you think that you’ve heard this one before, but I’ve just seen a link to yet another report of natural/herbal pills containing pharmaceuticals. Here’s the link. And here is the last post I wrote on this subject. [Contains links to other stories of dodgy supplements.]

This supposedly herbal product contains Sibutramine, marketed as Reductil, and tadalafil, commonly known as Cialis – according to the Daily Mail’s reporter. Uh, hang on a minute. I’d better double check this story. The Daily Mail so often print misleading, inaccurate, or distorted stories it would be foolish of me to take anything they write at face value.

Here’s the MHRA Press Release confirming it.

Bad Science Forum discussion. Hat Tip: Martin Y. EDIT: Arse. I’ve just noticed that the Quackometer blog has already covered this story. Here it is.

Like I said there… Thanks for the tip-off. I need to do the rounds of the local TCM shops and buy up all their stock and flog it at the local gay bar, gay bar, gay bar.
